Privacy Policy

Short version

We built this site to help you find unclaimed funds without selling your personal information to anyone. Our search tool runs entirely in your browser. We don't know who you are unless you contact us directly. When you fill out a form, we use that information only for the purpose stated on the form.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Names and search terms you enter into the search launcher — stored only in your browser's local storage, never transmitted to us
• Email address and message if you contact us through a form
• Information for partner matching if you opt in to being connected with a licensed finder (name, contact info, details of the claim)
• Newsletter signups — email address only

Information collected automatically

• Basic analytics — pages viewed, time on site, general location (city-level), browser type. We use privacy-respecting analytics and do not track individuals across sites.
• Cookies — only for essential site functionality and (if you consent) anonymous analytics. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising.

How we use it

• To respond to your direct questions and requests
• To send our newsletter if you explicitly subscribe
• To connect you with a licensed finder partner, only when you explicitly request it
• To understand in aggregate how our site is used and improve it
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the site

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your personal information to anyone
• We do not send your information to any partner unless you explicitly request a connection
• We do not track you across other websites
• We do not use your data for behavioral advertising
• We do not share your information with government agencies unless legally compelled to do so

Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site:

• Hosting: Vercel (United States)
• Analytics: privacy-respecting, no cross-site tracking
• Email: transactional and newsletter providers, used only when you contact us or subscribe
• Advertising: some pages may display ads from Google AdSense or similar networks. These providers may use cookies governed by their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information
• Opt out of any data sharing
• Restrict how we process your information

California residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what categories of information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of any sale (note: we do not sell personal information).

If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. Our legal basis for processing is typically your consent (for optional features) or legitimate interest (for basic site operation and fraud prevention).

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be announced with a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
